Dia de los Reyes

A surface pattern collection inspired by Dia de los Reyes (Three Kings Day) a holiday that carries deep cultural significance but is often underrepresented in seasonal decor within the U.S given it is a holiday celebrated more in Latin America and the islands.

This work came from noticing the imbalance between how Christmas is visually represented in design compared to other meaningful winter traditions. Decided to take matters into my own hands and create a collection with middle eastern motifs and biblical symbols and descriptions that are celebrated on this holiday.
